Simply put: I want to share my lessons I’ve learned so that people can make better choices as soon as they can.
Since 2018, I’ve been adjusting a lot of small things in life attacking different pain points.
One was my weight. There was no external pressure to lose weight. My husband, friends, and family would say I looked great. However, I hated the skin I was in. This led me to take steps leading to a 30 lb weight loss and it’s still off.
I wanted to be happier and less stressed so I made active efforts to acknowledge the good in my life, rather than focus on the negative.
In 2018, I found a job I love in the career I love. While technically it was a pay cut, there was so much money saved in other ways that I can actually save more than I ever have.
In 2019, I started listening to personal finance podcasts and adjusted what I reasonably could. In less than a year, the value of my investments increased by $40,000.
I want to create a space for short, actionable tips to optimize our finances and health. I’ll share the resources that I have found helpful. Let me know what has worked for you and what content you want to see.
To be clear, I’m just the girl next door. Besides the fact that I am a registered nurse, I am not an expert on finance, weight loss, or fitness. I’m sharing resources that have helped me in the hopes that it will help you. None of this replaces the role of the professionals in your life if you have them.
Anywho, I picked Our Green Life as the title of the blog for a few reasons.
Our = this message applies to everyone in some form or fashion, even you!
Green = in healthcare and finance, green is associated with positive outcomes
Life = this will look at ways to apply these principles in different aspects of life
